Embedded systems replication and sharding
Sharding - the concept of the database (DB), represents one of the ways of scaling the database when the database structure is broken down into the most independent part and each stored on different physical sites, such as on different servers or just on different hard drives.Benefits: reading speed (due to multiple access points).
Replication - also the concept of the database, is also a way of scaling the database, but after a full duplication. This means that two servers bulet two identical copies of the same database. Benefits: fault tolerance (one server breaks down, but the other will work), increases the speed of reading at mass access.
